Paul Forristal has continued Strata 3-VeloRevolution's strong run since the season re-start, winning the Mountnugent GP on Saturday evening.
Run off by Navan Road Club in wet conditions, Forristal sprinted in at the head of a four-rider breakaway that survived to share the spoils.
He got the better of his team mate Jack Caldwell, who had won the Danny O'Shea TT in Co Wicklow earlier in the day, with two junior riders also making the breakaway with the Strata 3-VeloRevolution men.
Teenagers Sean Lenehan (Navan RC) and Dean Harvey (Glendale VC) took 3rd and 4th respectively after putting in very impressive performances in getting clear in the winning breakaway with the two A1 men.
Fiona Guihen (Unattached) came though the brutal conditions for August to take the women's category in a race that drew a very large field.
The four breakaway men managed to get clear of the large main field on the penultimate lap and though they only ever eked out a small gap, they made it all the way.
Forristal made no mistake at the finish to take victory having shown his form with 3rd at the Mondello Series race in Co Kildare last week.
Likewise, Caldwell is clearly coming into some great form having won Sorrento CC's TT in the morning and then traveled to Co Cavan to take 2nd place in the evening.
Lenehan and Harvey can also take a lot of way from their performances, doing very well to escape the large peloton in such big company out front.
The sprint from the bunch for 5th place was won by Aaron Wade (Powerhouse Sport).
