Stephen Roche has allowed his 1987 bike to be thrown off the top of Blarney Castle to test a new bike product.

Stephen Roche is one of the classiest riders to have ever graced the sport of cycling.

And his bikes were always some of the finest on the road.

He had, however, a particular affinity to the Italian-built Battaglin bike made with Columbus SLX steel, Delta brakes and a stunning chrome finish.

It carried him to victory in the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France and World Championships in 1987.

That’s exactly what the guys at Bopworx did. They wanted to show what their bike-protection units were made for.

The company guard bikes from knocks and scrapes while being packed up, transported or stored.

And to prove how good their fixtures are they threw Roche’s bike off Blarney Castle while it was wrapped in Bopworx material.
