Video: Pro rider loses cool, slams bike down after branch jams wheel

It was this big! To be fair, that's no twig that was sent to grapple with the young Italian.
Cannondale-Drapac rider Alberto Bettiol has the honour of recording the first bike throw of the year (that we’ve noticed – Ed).
The Italian was furious when a huge branch got stuck between his frame and rear wheel on today’s stage of Tirreno-Adriatico.
And when he stopped to put it right the branch still wouldn’t budge. And so to vent his frustration in the moment, he slammed his bike down.
It wasn’t the most epic bike throw ever but the cameras were there to record it. As a result he’ll get no end of stick (pun intended) for this one.
The mechanic scrambled out of a team car and tried to help but it seems like it proved more difficult than you’d think.
On the bright side, he was back on his bike in no time and quickly regained the field.
In a strange coincidence, on yesterday’s stage when Bettiol was riding next to Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) the world champion played a practical joke on him.
He told him something was jammed in his back wheel. Fearing there was a problem, the young Italian could be seen nervously checking.
All the while, Sagan looked on in amusement.
You’ll see that in the second video below. Featured in the first clip is today’s incident.
