When the World Anti Doping Agency called to surprise MMA fighter Conor McGregor with a dope test, it was caught on film with well known former Irish national road race champion Julian Dalby (in blue) front and centre in the Irish fighter's camp.
We're used to bringing you all the news about Irish cycling, but here's a clip on something that's a little out of our comfort zone; mixed martial arts (MMA).
Conor McGregor is the star turn in the sport and when WADA surprised him with a drug test, former Irish road race champion Julian Dalby popped up front and centre.
Dr Dalby has worked as a ring doctor at MMA events in the last few years, and as well as his obvious medical experience he has also worked with McGregor - who welcomed being tested for the second time in three days - on strength and conditioning.
A power lifting world record holder himself - in the dead lift category - Dalby began working with McGregor after the Irish fighter's coach John Kavanagh met him through the Irish Strength Institute.
Dalby won a huge number of races in his day and became national champion with a terrific solo escape in Waterford in 1990.
He's never boring; his involvement with McGregor a really interesting twist for him.
McGregor test with Dalby cameo
Dalby greets the testers and is still clearly in great shape himself.

McGregor may have lightened the moment with his banter, but Dalby - as a doctor and strength coach - looks on intently as he observes the formalities of the test with others in the Irish fighter’s camp.

Dalby was one of the best riders of his day; pictured here during his successful world record effort in June 2012.
