New U23 World Champ’s legs really are in some condition; take a look

The lean legs of Kevin Ledanois – with bulging veins – were in some nick before his world title ride, below.

French rider Kevin Ledanois put in a fantastic last lap in the U23 race at the World Road Championships to take the gold medal away from Richmond.

When the pressure was on through the testing final third of the last lap he emerged out front alone with a slim advantage on a group of chasers.

He then put his bike in such a big gear to grind for home that TV commentators thought he must be having a mechanical problem.

Despite a late charge from those behind he held off Italy’s Simone Consonni, who took silver with a strong late surge and then burst into tears at being beaten.

To cap a great win for France, Anthony Turgis took the bronze.

The shot below has emerged of how the new champion’s legs looked before his world title winning ride.

Ledanois is aged 22 years and has been riding for ProContinental team Bretagne-Séché Environnement for the last couple of seasons.

His pins were clearly ripped going into the US showdown, even more so than the notoriously lean Chris Froome’s legs and those long, long legs of our own Conor Dunne.
