Conor Dunne races the biggest event of his career on Sunday when he goes in the elite men's road race at the World Championships in Richmond, Virginia (Picture: Sean Rowe)
Former team mates at An Post-Chainreaction, Sam Bennett and Conor Dunne have been getting reacquainted in the last week as they prepare to represent Ireland in the elite men's road race at the World Championships in the US on Sunday.
Dunne’s job will be to protect the interests of the Carrick-on-Suir man for as long as possible.
Cycling Ireland could have named a three-man team but decided to send two only.
With such a small line-up it will be difficult for the Irish to make any impression on the final result.
And if Bennett and Dunne were to finish the race that would perhaps be a good result.
One of the biggest in the pro peloton - at 6' 9" - we just hope Dunne is not called into action at any point to give Bennett his bike!
Dunne has been in the form of his life lately and enjoyed a fantastic Tour of Britain, where he was constantly off the front and finished runner-up in the hot spot sprints competition.
His roommate in Richmond, Bennett has just posted the shot below of Dunne's ripped and lean legs ahead of what will be the biggest test of his career.
The photo really underlines the condition these riders have to be in to even gain selection for the Worlds.

These legs are made for cycling!
