Lucy Bénézet Minns in the running for top RTÉ annual award

Lucy Bénézet Minns has been shortlisted for the RTÉ Sport Young Sportsperson of the Year, with the nominees just released by the national broadcaster.

The 18-year-old had a very strong season, again winning the junior TT and road race at the National Road Championships, being crowned points race champion at the European Track Championships.

She also finished 10th and 13th in the road race and TT at the UCI World Road Championships in Switzerland.

The awards will be presented in RTÉ at 9.30pm tomorrow week, December 15th. Other awards will also be on offer, including RTÉ Sport Sportsperson of the Year, RTÉ Sport Team of the Year and RTÉ Sport Manager of the Year.

In 2020 Oisín O’Callaghan won the Young Sportsperson of the Year award after being crowned junior downhill world champion.
