Irish rider Fiona Mangan has secured a place on a new French team that will mean she has a chance of riding bigger races, such as Paris Roubaix, next season.

Limerick woman Mangan's new contract with a new team tops a fantastic season for her, winning both the road race and TT titles at the National Road Championships on home roads in the summer before being selected for her first UCI World Championships, last month in Zurich.

And now she has been unveiled as one of several new signings by Winspace Cycling Team, a French Continental-level squad Winspace, which is going into its 13th season next year having started out as Poitou-Charentes back in 2009.

Mangan came up through the ranks, very rapidly, on the domestic scene, first with Greenmount Cycling Academy, and then broke through by winning the 2021 Cycling Ireland National Road Series.

Though she still combines working, as a biomedical engineer, with her racing she rode for the IBTC Continental level in 2022. In 2023 she moved to Soltec Team, and was part of its line-up for La Vuelta. Halfway through that season she jumped to US-registered Cynisca Cycling and remained with them for this season.

More to come.
