While many of the top professional and national teams have named their five-men squads for the upcoming An Post Rás, many county teams still have berths to fill.
Any riders interested in competing in this year’s An Post Rás have been urged to contact the organisers as there are a limited number of slots available on county teams.
As is usually the case for the country’s only UCI-ranked race, vacancies are in short supply with the event starting on May 17th, less than three weeks away.
Several riders have contacted stickybottle in the hope of being linked with teams and we’re happy to report that at least three are still looking for riders.
It’s a measure of how difficult the An Post Rás has become that so many teams are currently unfilled so close to the race.

County riders have rarely been as close to a stage win as Adam Armstrong, centre, was in 2012.
The standard of the race has been put beyond the reach of many county riders, though the strongest domestic men have been able to compete very well.
Back in 2013 over 20 riders missed the time limit into Glengarriff and were axed from the race; a factor that has perhaps deterred some from taking the plunge and signing up to ride the eight-day event.
However, if you’re mad enough – and fit enough – and want to race, contact Brona O’Sullivan on [email protected].
