Marc Potts has taken victory, from Philip Lavery, in the Annaclone GP promoted by Banbridge CC.
The fixture was rescheduled to today’s Bank Holiday having been postponed two weeks ago due to snow.
Potts (Neon Velo) and Lavery (Velorevolution-Strata 3) were quickest of the lead group that fought out for the win on a cold day for racing.
The victor won it well having stolen a march on Lavery and the others in the six-man group together at the finish.
Just as Mark Downey has come off the track season in flying form on the international scene, so too has Potts at home.
He adds today’s victory to his win in the St Patrick’s Day Race on Saturday promoted in Donegal by North Pole CC.
Potts was also victorious on Sunday in the McCann Cup promoted by Omagh Wheelers.
Today Potts won by a couple of lengths from Lavery, with Lindsay Watson (PowerHouseSport) in 3rd.
National cyclocross and hill climb champion Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles) was next. Last week’s winner in Sligo and Moore’s team mate PJ Doogan rounded out the top five.
