Rory Condon (Zappi Racing Team) has hit a run of good form of late and has converted that into a convincing win in Co Limerick; the 17-year-old junior seeing off some very strong C1 rivals.

Condon enjoyed some strong results last year, if a little under the radar, in his first year as a junior. His 5th place in the road race at the National Road Championships and a very solid 14th overall at the Junior Tour of Ireland both pointed to his talents.

More recently, the former O'Leary Stone Kanturk rider placed 2nd in the PJ O'Riordan Memorial, also in Limerick. In that race last month he and Cian Keogh, of UCI Continental team Skyline, rode away from the rest of the field.

On Tuesday night at Rás Luimni Condon was victorious in the 91km C1-C2 race, taking the win from a three-man breakaway group. Ronan Burke (Galway Bay CC) was 2nd and Keith Mulroy (Dan Morrissey Pissei Cycling Team) placed 3rd, after Zappi Racing's Condon had far too much for the others in the final push to the line.

Jack Conroy (Bray Wheelers) then led in a second small group for 4th place, from John O'Mahony (Newcastle West CC) and Daniel Yon Hin (ARBÖ MiKo PV ON-Fahrrad).

In the C3 race in the Limerick CC promotion, after 61km of racing, Marc Blain (Galway Bay CC) claimed victory in a sprint from a 10-man group. Shane Kelly (Newcastlewest CC) and Damien Culhane (Newcastlewest CC) were 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Brendan Talty (West Clare CC) was 4th, with Bruno Coppola (Greenmount CA) 5th and Niall McCarron (Manor House Tralee BC) rounding out the top six on the night.
