Greta Lawless, the young emerging talent who has already represented Ireland in MTB and cyclocross, has signed for the Dawson Racing team for the upcoming 2025 season.
The 17-year-old, who will still be a junior MTB rider this year, recently finished 2nd in the elite women's race at the National Cyclocross Championships - behind Esther Wong - in Ballinsloe, Co Galway.
She was also 2nd in the cyclocross championships last year and has competed for Ireland in MTB and cyclocross up to World Championships level. She made her debut for Ireland at the European Youth Olympics two years ago when she was 10th in the MTB race.
Lawless last December became the first Irish rider to take a top 10 result in a UCI Cyclocross World Cup, placing 10th in the junior women's race at the Dublin round of the global series.
Her signing for Dawson Racing - which is run by fellow international MTB rider, Chris Dawson -was confirmed by the team yesterday.
"Greta is a rising star of Irish off road cycling - a multi discipline rider who juggles high performance racing with her studies," the team said in a brief announcement.
"Greta has already made a splash on international racing, becoming the first Irish rider to top 10 at a UCI CX world cup.
"(She) has represented Ireland throughout her young career, from the Youth Olympics to the 2024 XCO World Championships as a first year junior. We’re excited to see what the future holds."
