A winner of two silver medals in the individual pursuit at the Worlds and Europeans, Xeno Young took his first road win of the season last night.
The Powerhouse Sport man was best in the race to the line at the Mondello Series on Mondello Park, Co Kildare.
Young finished clear of the others in a five-man move that was just ahead of a larger group on the line.]
The A1 rider used his track power to produced a seated effort all the way to the line that carried him well clear of those he was with.
He saw
off fellow A1 man Cian Keogh (Ciclotel
Travel YPB); the only two top category riders to catch the groups on the night
and push out front to fight for victory.
Brazilian fast man DJone Gomes (Unattached) took 3rd from Kieran Jackson (Comeragh CC), Cormac Durnin (Naas CC) and David Casserly (Longford CC).
