Gareth McKee was in unstoppable form again at Ballyhoura, adding another national marathon title to his burgeoning cross country mountain biking cv.

GARETH McKEE retained his XCM Champion's jersey by more than six minutes at Ballyhoura on Sunday.
The Banbridge CC rider took the title when the Irish Cross Country MTB Marathon Championships were last held in 2015, beating Ryan Sherlock by seven minutes in an 11-man race.
He has since won the last two Cross Country MTB Championships, setting him up as clear favourite to win this year's Marathon crown.
In a 15-man field for the 65km event, McKee led from start to finish, never giving his competitors any hope of catching him, finishing in a total time of 3hrs 13mins.
Raymon O'Shaughnessy (Cuchulainn CC) finished six minutes behind in second, with Chris Mollaghan (Team WORC) more than 20 minutes further back in third.

The disappointment was Mark Dowling, who was in third all day, but did not finish the race after missing an unmarked turn, then waiting with a fellow competitor who had crashed badly.
In the women's event, only four riders competed, Maeve Morrogh beating Emma Walsh (Waterford Racing Club) by 11 minutes, Caroline McArdle the only other rider to finish (EPIC MTB / Expert Cycles).
