Jemma Speers (North Down Cycling Club) has claimed overall victory in the senior Cycling Ireland National Road Series for 2023 while Hannah Hayes (TC Racing) has won out in the junior women's series.
Speers topped the final classification after consistently scoring across the rounds, taking her best result, 2nd place, in Round 1, the Donal Crowley Memorial, behind race winner Aoife O'Brien (Spellman Dublin Port).
And while Caoimhe O'Brien (Belco Van Eyck) scored victories in three rounds of the series - the 'Des Hanlon', 'Brian O'Loughlin' and Meath Grand Prix - Speers took points in all six races she rode.
She won with 136 points, ahead of Caoimhe O'Brien on 120 points, and Jennifer Neenan (UCD Cycling Club) on 118 points. Aoife O'Brien was 4th on 117 points while Yvonne Doran (Orwell Wheelers) was 5th with 89 points and Clodagh Ní Ghallchóir (UCD CC) rounded out the top six on 78 points.

In the junior series, Hannah Hayes (TC Racing) won on 48 points from Shauna Finn (Arcane CT), with 33 points, while Aine Doherty (VC Glendale) rounded out the podium on 23 points.
Hayes took the best result of any of the juniors in the joint junior-senior races in the series, taking 5th place - and 20 points - in the Donal Crowley Memorial. The overall winner, Hayes also scored points in four races in the series, more than any other junior.
