Eoin Whelan of Seven Springs CC (though wearing an Usher IRC skinsuit) on his way to victory
Eoin Whelan of the promoting club Seven Springs CC has taken victory in the Connacht Time Trial Championships in Kilreekil in Co Galway today, Sunday.
Whelan stormed around the 40km course in a time of 55:24 to take victory from Paul Keogh (Bottecchia RC) and Chris Troy (Castlebar CC).
Keogh’s time of 55:57 was not too far off the winner’s and as well as capturing him the silver medal it also saw him top the A3 category today.
Similarly, the 56:27 time of the bronze medal winner Troy also took him to the veteran’s prize.
In the junior ranks it was talented Seven Springs CC rider Thomas Fallon who took the win ahead of newly crowned National Junior Road Race Champion Liam Corcoran (Castlebar).
Fresh from her appearance for Ireland in the junior road race at the European Championships in Holland earlier this month, Castlebar CC’s Lauren Gourlay took the women’s crown ahead of Milly Read (Black Rose Racing).
