While unexpected snow hit parts of Ireland on Friday, making road conditions difficult, it is hoped a full weekend of racing can take place on Saturday and Sunday on what is the opening weekend of the new season.
There was snow in both Dublin and Meath on Friday but Dublin Wheelers CC has said it is planning to go ahead with the Mick Lally Memorial promotion in Summerhill, Co Meath, tomorrow.
The club made that statement on Friday, but added the course would undergo a final inspection early on Saturday morning.
"The intention is that tomorrow's race will proceed as planned," Dublin Wheelers said in a brief statement on Friday afternoon. "Course officials will inspect the route tomorrow morning and a further update will be posted at 9.00am on Saturday, March 2nd."
Meanwhile, after Banbridge Cycling Club had already announced it was changing its racing format for the Travers Engineering Annaclone GP tomorrow, Navan Road Club is effectively taking the same approach to the Seamus Kennedy Memorial on Sunday.
Banbridge CC has decided to abandon having a standalone A4 race and will instead have a combined A3-A4 event, while also running a race for A1-A2 riders. The change was due to the fact entries for the A4 race were so low.
Navan Road Club has announced the same trend - low A4 numbers - and, as a result, it has decided to merge the A3-A4 categories.
"Due to very low entries thus far, especially in the A4 category, we have taken the decision to combine the A3s and A4s into a handicapped race. Starting at 11:35am," it said, adding the race would take place over two laps, for a distance of 75km.
The separate A1-A2 race and women's event an unaffected by the change, and go ahead as planned.
"The race committee had no choice but to make this decision. Unfortunately race entries are much much lower than previous years. We must adapt to survive," Navan Road Club added.
In Kerry, Tralee Manor West BC said its Lacey Cup promotion - with an A1-A2-A3 race and separate A4 event - would go ahead as planned on Sunday. Over 120 riders have entered the events.
There are also no changes reported to the Phoenix GP being promoted on Sunday by Phoenix Cycling Club.
