Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) has continued his romp through the spring races, taking another stage victory at Volta Ciclista a Catalunya (2.UWT) and extending his overall lead to well over one minute.

While his performances have not been as dominant as Tour de France rival Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Vingegaard now looks in mint condition and is shaping up for a strong assault on the Tour.

However, though Evenepoel tried to pile pressure on Vingegaard, the Dane simply picked his moment and made his move, with his rivals unable to match his acceleration.

Lenny Martinez (Bahrain-Victorious) and Lipowitz rallied just before the line, though Vingegaard was easing back up ahead, and finished 2nd and 3rd, both at 10 seconds.
