Michal Kwiatkowski wins the final stage and the overall at the Volta ao Algarve. A surprise on the final day saw a group of 31 riders go clear, with the strongest never recaptured by the main field.

The Tour of Oman and Volta ao Algarve concluded yesterday with their final stages. Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky) was the big winner in Portugal.
He won the final stage, on an uphill finish, to also seal the overall victory. He lifted the final yellow jersey from the shoulders of team mate Geraint Thomas.
The Pole had also won the stage 2 summit finish stage last week. Dan Martin ended the race in 14th overall for UAE Team Emirates.
Ryan Mullen (Trek-Segafredo) had hoped to ride well in the stage 3 TT but a puncture ruined his effort.
At the Tour of Oman Alexander Kristoff (UAE Team Emirates) won the final stage. Alexey Lutsenko (Astana) took the overall title.
Nicolas Roche (BMC Racing) as 19th overall. Conor Dunne (Aqua Blue Sport) was 89th.
