Dimension Data's Serge Pauwels and Omar Fraile create their dream scene at the Tour de Yorkshire.

It's a scenario they could have only dreamt of at the start of the stage. To sail down the finishing straight for a team 1-2 and also grab the outright win.

But that's exactly what came about for Dimension Data's Serge Pauwels and Omar Fraile.

They came across the finish line, both with their arms aloft, for a result they’ll never forget.

With the racing having been so tight over the first two stages, the riders’ time gained was enough for them to take 1-2 in the overall as well.

Pauwels ran out the winner there too, by six seconds from his team mate

Today’s final into at the end of the stage from Bradford to Sheffield was punctuated by four hard ramps.

Pauwels would attack over the top of the Cote de Wigtwizzle and ride away solo.

In the disintegrating group behind Fraile played the loyal team mate, marking all the moves.

And when the lone leader crested both the Ewden Height and Midhopestones with 30 seconds in hand things looked good.

But when the eight-man chase group went over the final climb, Fraile dropped them. And he, incredibly, rode across to his team mate, catching him with 2km remaining.

Jonathan Hivert (Cofidis) was best of the rest for 3rd on the day, just six seconds back.

Brent Bookwalter (BMC Racing) was 4th on the same time. And neo pro Tao Geoghegan Hart (Team Sky) took a very strong 5th a further two seconds back.

The group he was in included one of the Aqua Blue Sport riders Mark Christian and the young British rider took 8th. He was also 7th overall, a great result for the Irish team.

His Irish team mate Conor Dunne was 94th, in a group 13 minutes back. Matt Brammeier was among the non-finishers.
