The opening round of the Ulster Cyclocross Series saw over 400 riders sign on across all the races in what must surely be one of the biggest events of recent times. Check out this video below made by the host club Apollo CT (Photo: David McVeigh - The Belgian Project)
The first races of any season can always be expected to see a large turnout, with enthusiasm at its maximum before some of the numbers fall away as the pain is dished out.
But the field that turned out for the Ulster Cyclocross Series in Lurgan Park, Armagh, was huge even for the early days in the 2015-2016 campaign.
Host club Apollo Cycling Team put in a fantastic promotion, with the main event won by elite national champion David Montgomery.
He has been riding for Belgian Continental outfit Team 3M of late and was competing yesterday in his national champion's livery.
Aside for the great racing, the talking point was the sheer size of the field.
And as David McVeigh's shot above and the Apollo Cycling Team video below reveal, it was bumper to bumper all the way.
Here is a quick snapshot of today's Cyclocross event. What a view seeing nearly 100 riders coming to the jumps!!
