Before he was paralysed, there was no stunt Martyn Ashton couldn't do on a bike. Now, despite having no feeling from his chest down, he's back on his bike.
Motorcycle trials rider turned mountain bike trials rider, Martyn Ashton has world and British titles his name and was a hugely popular stunt rider.
He shot to international fame three years ago when he launched the first of his Road Bike Party videos, in which he did incredible tricks with a Team Sky Dogma Pinarello mount.
At stickybottle we were so impressed with his jaw-dropping work that we published the video under the headline: This short video is so good we’re not bothering with a proper headline; speechless
Further videos followed that simply cemented his reputation.
But then disaster struck as Ashton, now aged 40 years, was paralysed in September 2013 when performing a show.

Ashton wasn't hanging about; that urge for speed clearly not diminished by what he's going through.
Having suffered a devastating spinal injury, he was left with no feeling from his chest down; his brilliant and blossoming career cut short.
He had to face the reality that he would never walk again, let alone ride his bike.
But in the amazing footage below, Ashton flies down a mountain on his bike with a group of friends including the legendary Danny MacAskill; himself the start of some amazing videos.
There are three inspiring clips below.
The first captures the amazing ride. In the second Ashton talks about his battle to get back on his bike. And in the third piece he talks us through the bike that has helped make it possible.
