Video highlights of Tour's 'Hell of the North' stage 5 as carnage and chaos reign

Here's a couple of videos from yesterday's epic Tour de France stage 5 that took the riders over seven sections of cobbles used in Paris Roubaix on the 155km trek in foul weather from Ypres to Arenberg Porte du Hainaut.

The first clip is a short highlights film of the stage action, with the second a piece on Chris Froome. It assesses if the legacy of his withdrawal might come in the shape of lasting mental damage long after the physical injuries have healed.

And just because we couldn't resists, the final piece here is Greg LeMond musing about how much Team Sky must regret not picking 2012 victor Bradley Wiggins now that they must continue without Froome.

Yesterday's victory was a masterclass from Lars Boom on a day when the terrain and weather couldn't have been worse nor the stage any bigger. Photos like this one by Stefano Sirotti will be iconic in the years to come.
