Dubliner Lydia Boylan (Team WNT) took an impressive victory in the women’s event at the National Road Race Championships on Saturday.
She won the title in a sprint from a six-rider group containing most of the pre-race favourites that pulled clear of the remainder of the field on Omagh.
Lydia Gurley (Bonito) was 2nd, with former road race and time trial champion Olivia Dillon of VisitDallas taking bronze in a photo finish.
Runner-up in last Thursday night’s TT title race, Eve McCrystal of Garda CC was just edged out of the medals in 4th, with new TT champion Siobhan Horgan of Aquablue coming home in 5th.
The photo finish for bronze was between Dillon, McCrystal and Horgan.
Defending champion Fiona Meade (Fearless Femme) was a little further back in 6th place; also having ridden a strong race on her return from the US where she is now racing full time.
The action is captured in the film below by J Collins Films.
