When this Cofidis lead-out rider drifts back and into Marcel Kittel in the sprint, the German is around him and out of sight in an instant.
On-board video Kittel sprint movement, sheer speed
The movement and sheer speed of Marcel Kittel in the sprint finish of the Tour de France is captured in this on-board clip.
The German was galloping to the fourteenth Tour de France stage win of his career. And yesterday's victory was his fifth in this edition of the race.
He won the charge to the line in Pau very comfortably from Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo) and Edvald Boasson Hagen (Dimension Data).
Briton Ben Swift (UAE Team Emirates) was 9th on the day. He began his sprint just ahead of QuickStep's Kittel. The sprint was recorded from a camera on Swift's bike.
It brilliantly captures Kittel sprinting in full flow. His movement around the road and the speed at which he moves away from Swift is incredible.
One of the Cofidis lead-out riders drifts back through the sprint and into Kittel's path. However, he darts around him and he's out of sight in an instant.
That sprint clip, from Velon, is the first one below.
The second clip is the longer video. It features on-board highlights captured by cameras on different riders' bike through the stage.
How close the pros come to parked cars and spectators at the roadside never ceases to amaze. And there are a few hairy moments in that regard in here.
