Philip Deignan's result on the opening stage of the 10-day Tour de Suisse today won't go now as one of his career highlights, but a top 30 placing in the stage 1 9.4km time trial augers very well for the Team Sky man.
The specialist climber is not known for his ability against the clock, with the time trials featuring plenty of high climbing the only tests he would be expected to put in a strong performance.
However, he came home in 25th position of the 176 field, losing just 41 seconds to winner and world time trial champion Tony Martin of Omega Pharma Quickstep.
The presence of some tough climbing on the course undoubtedly aided Deignan but the parcours was by no means one for mountain goats.
And having finished the Giro d'Italia so strongly, Deignan appears to have recovered nicely and is hopefully set for another strong performance in Switzerland.
His team leaders this week are Tour of California winner Bradley Wiggins and recently returned to competition Sergio Henao.
The Colombian is back having been withdrawn from racing early in the year after returning suspicious blood values. He has been cleared to race again after undergoing two months of testing that proved his claim wintering at altitude was the cause of his initial test results.
Deignan lost just 10 seconds to in-form time trial specialist Wiggins and recorded the same time as Henao, underling his condition.

Bradley Wiggins lines out alongside Deignan at Team Sky, just one of two team leaders in Switzerland.
