Jason Kenny and Conor Murnane, both of UCD Cycling Club, led the way in 'Round 6' of the Mondello Series 2023 in Mondello Park on Tuesday night after going through the field.

Mark Donnelly-Orr (Lucan Cycling Road Club) put up a fight longer than anyone else as he was the last man to be caught by the flying duo. However, Donnelly-Orr was also eventually dispatched, though he did survive for 3rd place.

The eventual winner and runner-up started the race in the A1 limit group, which caught most of those ahead of them quite early in the contest. However, though the A1s caught the A3 bunch, some groups had gone off the front of it. Kenny attacked and got clear immediately the A1s caught the large A3 group.

And after he had been clear for a short period, Murnane also jumped off the front, bridging across to his team mate. Once they teamed up in a two-man move they quickly caught and dropped those A3 breakaway riders still ahead of them.

Donnelly-Orr was out front alone by the team the UCD duo caught him with about two laps to go. They then worked him over, to shake him off and power to the line for a 1-2; Kenny 1st and Murnane 2nd, with Donnelly-Orr finishing solo behind them in 3rd place.
