Trulock takes career best win in Tommy Brady Memorial

Having made relentless progress in recent years and become a handful for the opposition, Dermot Trulock has notched a significant milestone in any young riders career; his first victory as an A1.

Last night in Robinstown, Co Meath, Trulock was instrumental in pulling clear a 12-man breakaway at the Tommy Brady Memorial.

And when the escapees got organised and stayed away, Lucan CRC’s Trulock had too much for them in the kick to the line.

The Navan RC-promoted event was a handicapped affair; a combined scratch group of A1, A2 and A3 riders chasing a group of A4s who were off first.

After two of six laps Trulock lined out the bunch coming through the finish area, with his effort causing a split in the field.

When a group of about a dozen got clear, they knuckled down to pool their efforts, with their gap going north of one minute.

Despite the presence of some really good riders in the bunch back the road, the move stayed clear.

And Trulock took victory from Joe Christain (Unattached), Bryan Geary (Scott Orwell Wheelers), Craig Sweetman (Stamullen RC) and John Kenny (Navan RC).

The winner’s next big goal is the Suir Valley Three Day and if his rate of progress continues a green jersey may not be too far away.
