Tim Merlier (Soudal QuickStep) has taken the final bunch sprint of UAE Tour 2023; the Belgian champion just holding off Sam Bennett (Bora-hansgrohe) in the final dash to the line at Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
Merlier adds his victory today to the win he took on the opening stage, making for a very successful trip to the Middle East for the new Soudal-QuickStep rider. And while Bennett goes home empty handed, he has looked sharper in recent days.

His 2nd place today - after a decent lead-out and strong sprint effort - comes after 3rd yesterday. And while Bennett wanted wins at this race, he at least has the solace of knowing he wasn't too far away from the top of the podium over the last two days.
