Irish multiple national champion Eoin Mullen has just fallen short of progressing to the final of the keirin at the UCI World Cup in Glasgow, placing second in his heat yesterday, Saturday.

The 19-year-old from the Arran Islands was edged out by Denis Dmitriev of Russia. The Irishman then went on to the first round repechage, where he was 4th of four in heat 4. He is in action again today, Sunday, in the sprint event.
