Seth Dunwoody (Team Ireland) has brushed off the disappointment of losing time on yesterday's opening stage of the Peace Tour in Czechia - part of the UCI Junior Nations Cup - to put in a very strong ride against some of the best juniors in the world.
The 8.8km TT in Třebívlice, which was flat, was won by the impressive reigning world junior road race champion, Albert Philipsen of Denmark. He was nice seconds up on Aldo Taillieu, who won the junior Belgian TT title just two days ago, with Norway's Marius Dahl placing 3rd at 16 seconds.
Dunwoody, who got caught behind a crash yesterday and lost over six minutes in the crosswinds on the opening stage, finished in 7th place, some 24 seconds down on the flying Philipsen.
David Gaffney and Patrick Casey of Team Ireland finished 32nd and 33rd in the TT, at 50 and 51 seconds respectively. Cal Tutty was 60th at 1:04 while Joseph Mullen was 79th at 1:14.
The race continues this afternoon with a 61.4km most flat road stage in the afternoon from Roudnice to Štětí.
