The Annaclone GP begins the new road racing season in Ulster on Saturday, with two events - one for A1-A2-A3 riders and another for A4s-Women - in the Banbridge CC promotion sponsored by Travers Engineering. The headline race is 6 laps of the 12.7km circuit - from race HQ at Annaclone GAA, Banbridge - for a distance of 51km, while the A4s do four laps, some 51km

There are some very strong riders down to race - start lists below - with the 71-rider main event featuring two men riding for Continental teams. Banbridge CC alumni Matthew Teggart (AT85 PRO CYCLING) will be hard to beat and the same can be said of last year's winner Dean Harvey, the Trinity Racing man in the breakaway last week with World Tour riders at O Gran Camiño (2.1) in Spain.

Another former Banbridge CC rider, John Buller (Team PB Performance) is back from France and should have a say in the outcome on Saturday, as should Conor Halvey (Four Masters CC), last year's Rás Tailteann Irish team rider Paul Antoine Hagan (Banbridge CC), one of the men of 2022 Shane Smith (Moynalty Cycling Club) and Rás Mumhan champion Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport).

Gareth O'Neill (Un-Attached Ulster) is another potential winner, as is Darnell Moore (Team Caldwell Cycles). Others who will also be in the mix include Mitchell McLaughlin (All human-VeloRevolution), , Nathan Keown (Team Dan Morrissey-Primor by Pissei) and Conor McCann (Inspired Cycling).

There are also some very good juniors in the field, including national junior road race champion Oisin Ferrity (Caldwell Cycles) and Seth Dunwoody; the 16-year-old riding for Cannibal-Victorious U19 Development Team who took 11th at Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne last weekend in what was his first race as a junior.
