Darragh Doherty (Flanders Color Defever Team) has won stage 2 of the Gorey Three Day today at the head of a four-man breakaway that finished just seconds ahead of a chasing group. The hilliest stage of the race saw big gaps emerge through the field ahead of this evening's TT, with the yellow jersey also changing hands today, though not to stage winner Doherty.
The junior rider who won the stage got the better of Aureilusz Klus (Stamullen RC) and Killian O'Brien (Cycling Leinster); that duo finishing 2nd and 3rd after O'Brien had led the race solo for about an hour. Peter Kirwan of Lucan CRC placed 4th and finished on the same time as the top three.

Just eight seconds back came junior rider Josh Callaly (Cycling Leinster) while a group of 11 riders were 16 seconds down and going for the minor placings. Yesterday's stage 1 winner, and yellow jersey, Conor Prendergast (Galway Bay CC) finished 25th at 37 seconds, though the time he gained yesterday means he is still firmly in contention overall.
The yellow jersey passes to the man who was 4th on the stage today; Lucan CRC's Kirwan. He goes into the stage 3 TT just two seconds up on Matthew Hoare (Cycling Leinster) and Prendergast, who are now 2nd and 3rd. Killian O'Brien (Cycling Leinster), Aureliusz Klus (Stamullen RC) and Darragh Doherty (Flanders Color Defever Team) fill places 4th to 6th, all three at six seconds.
