Junior rider Jack Conroy holds the yellow jersey in the A4 Charleville Two Day after the first day of action today, including the morning road race stage and the afternoon TT.
Conroy (Bray Wheelers) now holds yellow going into Sunday's final stage by six seconds from Patrick Murtagh (Bottecchia Racing Club) with Ronan McSweeney (Blarney Cycling Club) 3rd at 15 seconds. Sean O'Flynn (Blarney Cycling Club) is now 4th overall at 40 seconds with Ronan Flannery (St Tiernan's CC) 5th at 55 seconds and Aidan Cunningham of Cuchulainn CC 6th at 58 seconds.

Race leader Conroy was at the head of affairs on the opening road stage when he was among seven riders who gained over a minute on the rest of the field. Conroy won that stage by 16 seconds from a chasing group of riders at 16 seconds as the main field was 1:31 back.

Ronan McSweeney took the sprint for 2nd place from his Blarney CC team mate Shane O'Flynn. Aidan Cunningham of Cuchulainn CC placed 4th, with Patrick Murtagh (Bottecchia Racing Club) and Seamus Babington (Panduit Carrick Wheeler) 5th and 6th, completing the breakaway.
In the afternoon 6.1km TT it was Derek Cullen (Greenmount CA) who claimed victory in a time of 8:23. He beat Paul Noble (Slaney CC) by four seconds with Ronan Flannery (St Tiernan’s CC) in 2rd at 9 seconds. Yellow jersey Conroy placed 7th at 23 seconds, which was enough for him to hold yellow going into tomorrow’s stage 3 road race.
