Six on the trot for magnificent McKenna; sees off Team ASEA duo

Sean McKenna has done it yet again; winning his sixth race of the season just over one month into the new campaign.

This time in the Usher Irish Road Club promoted St Patrick’s Day race in Summerhill, Co Meath, was the scene of the 'Sean McKenna Roadshow'.

The Aqua Blue man had too much in the tank for the Team ASEA duo of Chris Reilly and Bryan McCrystal as they duked it out in the sprint for the line.

The trio had been part of the day’s four-man break alongside Darragh Zaidan (Adamstown CC) after going clear of the field on the second of five laps.

They held a maximum advantage of around a minute going onto the final loop when the attacking of McKenna started.

But the rangy Dubliner was equal to McCrystal's and Reilly’s best efforts to shake him off, and just got the verdict on the line from Reilly.

Cathal Clarke of Newry Wheelers won the highly-competitive A3 race from Dermot White (Lucan CRC) and Jake Gray (Magnet.ie-NRPT).

Brendan Lawless of Orwell Wheelers emerged victorious in the A4 event, which ended in a spectacular massive bunch gallop.

Derek Gormley (Navan RC) and Noel Kelly (Bray Wheelers) rounded out the podium there.
