Siobhan McNamara and Eve McCrystal have both enjoyed a strong final day at the Shutt VR Bedford Three-Day in the UK, taking top ten stage placings on the final split stage.
McCrystal, riding this weekend for a Leinster selection, but in a very good morning time trial that saw her take 9th place, just one second and one place ahead of British-based Irish international Lydia Boylan (Team CTC).
McCrystal scorched around the 8km course in Millbrook in a time of 9:33, just 16 seconds down on winner Claire Galloway (Breast Cancer Care). That was a very strong ride by McCrystal against a quality British field.
In the afternoon road stage, McNamara was 9th in the bunch sprint at the end of the 8okm road stage, also held in Millbrook. In was a good outing for the Irish, with Fran Meehan (Leinster) taking 9th in yesterday afternoon's road stage and Boylan grabbing third on the opening road stage on Saturday.
Boylan, a multi national Irish track champion, rounded out the race as the best Irish rider overall, taking 15th place.
