Ryan Sherlock has taken his second stage victory at the ‘Connemara Bog Week Two Day’ at Tullycross, winning the 5km TT this morning, Sunday.
The Cycleways man recorded a time of 7:08 for the short test, leaving him with 31 seconds on hand over Padraig Marrey of promoting club Western Lakes CC, with Dave Walsh of Slaney CC in third a further two seconds back.
Sherlock took the yellow jersey into this morning’s time trial after winning the stage 1 road race yesterday, when he was the only one of the A1/A2 riders to bridge across to the remains of the A3 group, which started the stage with a three-and-a-half minute handicap.
He now goes into this afternoon’s road stage with 1:01 to spare over Liam Frawley (Galway Bay CC), with Marrey a further two seconds back.
Come back for more later on this afternoon’s 59 mile road stage and the final GC outcome.
