The severe weather warnings, including for snow, have failed to call a halt to the final round of the 2024-25 National Cyclocross Series which will take place in Co Louth tomorrow.

Though the worst of the weather is not forecast for Co Louth, meaning snow is not expected at the venue, heavier weather is anticipated elsewhere, and temperatures look set to be bitterly cold across the country.

However, the Cycling Ireland Offroad Commission has confirmed the racing will go ahead, even though there was the prospect the bad weather in the other regions would create difficulties for some traveling to the racing.

"Original weather alerts haven't seemed to have gotten any worse. Event still going ahead. Please allow more time to get to the venue, drive safe," the commission said in a short statement this evening.
