Seth Dunwoody (Bahrain Victorious Devo) has not taken long to find his feet in the elite European peloton, with last year's outstanding Irish junior winning the final stage today at Circuit des Ardennes (UCI 2.2).

The 18-year-old did what he does best; sprinting in at the front of a large bunch and proving too quick for his rivals at the end of 167km of racing into Charleville-Mézières.

Dunwoody told stickybottle recently he had put in a big winter, much of it in Australia with coach Stephen Gallager, but had then fallen ill with some viruses early in the year.

However, it was clear he was coming good in France over the last week, taking 11th and 5th on the opening two stages, before pulling the trigger for victory today.

That is a significant win for Dunwoody, who has now shown he is comfortable already in international UCI-ranked racing, and able to win, having apparently made a seamless transition from the junior ranks last year.

More to come.
