Seth Dunwoody (Bahrain Victorious Development) has completed his efforts at Tour of Romania (2.2) with a stage victory and two classification wins; in the points classification and the mountains competition.
Dunwoody had to settle for a minor placing on the final stage yesterday after one of the rival teams, Polish outfit Voster ATS Team, nailed the final and left the other team's struggling to get on terms in the final sprint in Bucharest.
Also in action on Romania, Conn McDunphy (Team Skyline) put in a very strong showing, including going up the road on the hilly stage 2, the queen stage of the race. However, he perhaps would have liked hilly terrain, though still finished 16th overall, some 6:33 down on winner Cesare Chesini (MBH Bank Ballan CSB).
Though Dunwoody and his team mates were yesterday just behind the Poles in the final kilometre, they left themselves with too much to do after they rounded the final bend, which was least than 200m from the finish line.
However, the final stage disappointment aside, Dunwoody showcased his talents through the race by cleaning up at the intermediates sprints and on the climbs. And rather than sitting back and hoping for sprint finishes, the 19-year-old from Armagh went on the attack.

He was 2nd on the opening stage, from a 10-man breakaway, and was only beaten for the victory after Austrian Max Schmidbauer (WSA KTM Graz) attacked in the final kilometre, opened a gap and just about held off Dunwoody, who was 2nd.
However, the Irish rider made no mistake on stage 3, winning the day after dominant ride. He spent a chunk of the stage up the road in a small breakaway before dropping the two riders still with him on the late climbs.
Dunwoody, leading the mountains classification from stage 1, pressed on alone before being caught by two chasers. And though the remains of the peloton almost caught them, they held on, with Dunwoody winning the sprint for stage victory.
He was 12th on Saturday's stage, after leading out his team mate, Italian Thomas Capra, in the sprint for victory from the 25-rider group that made it to the line at the front of the race after a day of crosswinds.
And though yesterday's final sprint got away from him and his team mates, Dunwoody was still 6th, with an impressive win - after a very fast lead-out effort - saw Voster ATS Team take a 1-2 with Radosław Frątczak and Patryk Stosz.
Dunwoody topped the points classification with 88 points, compared to 35 points for classification runner-up, and stage 1 winner, Schmidbauer. The Irish rider also won the mountains classification by a huge margin; 28 points Vs 13 for runner-up Christian Bagatin (MBH Bank Ballan CSB).
