Charlie Kelly (Velo Performance Development Team) went to Bohermeen, Co Meath, last week for the Waller Cup where he won the C3 race in the morning and then rode the C2 event in the afternoon and took 3rd place.
And now the 18-year-old rider has taken more success; this time claiming victory in the Sean Stagg Shield in Co Mayo, with some of the best C1 riders in the country behind him.
Kelly claimed victory just a few lengths ahead of Paul Kennedy (Team Skyline) and Mark Shannon (Burren CC), with that trio finishing clear of the best of the rest.
Behind the leading trio, Cian Keogh (Team Skyline) took 4th place, with Daire Feeley (Burren CC) in 5th and Ruairi Woods of Burren CC rounding out the top six.
The C3 race went to Kevin Forde (Unattached Connacht) from Jonathan Murphy (Unattached Connacht) and James Finn (Gaeltacht CC).
