Sam Bennett has taken another fine win this afternoon when he sprinted to victory in a pro kermesse race in the town of Lede, Belgium.
The Team NetApp-Endura rider appears to be showing no signs of fatigue as the season hits a crucial stage and he will travel to Ireland on Thursday brimming with confidence ahead of the National Road Championships next weekend.
The Carrick-on-Suir neo-pro will line up against the country's top riders, with the course in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, suited to his characteristics.
Today's race in Belgium ended in a sprint from a small group, with the race only splintering at the very end despite the aggression of a number of riders including Bennett over the 168km event.
His team had more reason to celebrate this weekend when Tiago Machado claimed overall victory in the Tour of Slovenia.
The only other Irish rider in the kermesse in Belgium today was Sean Downey. The An Post-Chainreaction man was listed as a non finisher.
