Sam Bennett finishes strong but leaves it too late in France | Video

Sam Bennett was a long way back as the sprint began and though he came through very strongly at the last, he had left it too late

Sam Bennett (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) has taken his second podium result in two days at Région Pays de la Loire Tour (2.1) in France.

However, while the Irish rider came through like a train right before the finish line at the end of stage 3 today, he had left his final effort too late.

He made up considerable ground to place 3rd on the 160km stage into Château-Gontier but was unable to overtake winner, Alberto Dainese (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) and runner-up Marijn van den Berg (EF Education-EasyPost).
