Sam Bennett has once again controlled his rivals in the points classification at the Tour de France and put more points into them at the intermediate sprint on today's stage 17.
The Irish cyclist already had a big lead on Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) in the classification but Trentin (CCC Team) moved himself into contention, just about, by winning the intermediate sprint on yesterday's stage 16 after he made the breakaway.
On today's stage 17 - some 170km from Grenoble to Col de la Loze - an early breakaway was up the road by the time the race reached the intermediate sprint point at La Rochette.
However, while the first six places across the line were mopped up by the breakaway, the peloton sprinted for 7th place.
Bennett took that, after a lead-out from his Deceuninck-QuickStep team, and he collected nine points for his efforts. His team mate Michael Mørkøv was next, taking eight points.
Then Sagan claimed 7 points and Trentin claimed 6. It means Bennett gained two points on Sagan in the classification and gained three on Trentin.
As today's stage features a summit finish, none of the green jersey contenders will score points at the finish. And that means Bennett, once he makes the time cut, will defend his green jersey today and also extend his lead in the competition.
