Sam Bennett (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) has made it two wins from three at Tour de la Provence, claiming the final stage today after having also won the opener last Friday.
Fellow Irishman Dillon Corkery (St Michel-Preference Home-Auber 93) also put in a very good ride today, taking 13th on the stage and showing his form is very much building.
Though the sprint into Arles today was marred by a crash, just behind Bennett, the Irishman was already in full flight kicking for the line. It was highly unlikely he would have been challenged by any of the riders behind him.
Pascal Ackermann (Israel Premier Tech) hit the deck first and brought down others, though Bennett and stage runner-up Marijn van den Berg (EF Education-EasyPost) were just ahead of the incident.
Alexander Konijn of Nice Métropole Côte d'Azur got up for a fine 3rd place for his team, a Continental outfit sprinting against the World Tour men. The stage came down to a sprint after a determined breakaway effort was caught late.
Mads Pedersen (Lidl Trek), who won yesterday's stage and took the race lead, finished in the bunch today - in 9th place - to win the race overall.
Darren Rafferty (EF Education-EasyPost), who worked strongly for his team over the last three days, was 77th on today's stage at 1:08.
Sam Bennett (Decathlon Ag2r La Mondiale) WINS the last stage of Tour de la Provence in Arles! ??? Terrible crash for Ackermann while he was lauching his sprint on a speed bump (not a great placing).#TDLP2025
