Sam Bennett has come through a very close finish at the BinckBank Tour to take a third stage victory in three days.
The decision went down to a photo finish between the
Irish Bora-hansgrohe rider and Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma).
The Dutch sprinter looked to be just ahead of race leader Bennett, but the Carrick-on-Suir man lunged for the line much more effectively.
While Tom Boonen and Tyler Farrar both won three stages at the BinckBank Tour, Bennett is the first rider to win three in a row.

And that lunge saw San Bennett just get his front wheel
over the finish line in Aalter after 166.9km.
Bennett was once again looked after well by his
Bora-hansgrohe team but towards the end of the stage he again latched onto the
Jumbo Visma lead-out train.
And while Groenewegen made Bennett work much harder today that yesterday or Monday, the Irish rider still got past his Dutch rival to win.
The victory today means Sam Bennett has now picked up 30
seconds in time bonuses at the three finishes.
While there is a TT to come in this race on stage 6, it
is just 8.4km. And that now raises the prospect that Bennett could win the race
overall.
Stijn Steels (Roompot Charles), Guillaume Van Keirsbulck (CCC Team) and Harry Tanfield (Katusha) broke clear of the field today but were caught close to the finish just after the golden kilometre.
More to come.
