
Ryan Mullen has finished 8th in the elite men's TT riding for Ireland at the European Road Championships in France.
The Trek-Segafredo rider went around the 25.6km course in Plouay in a time of 31:59, riding an average speed of 48.025km per hour.
That saw him finish 1:41 down on Switzerland's Stefan Küng; the Swiss national TT champion who rides for Groupama-FDJ winning the title in a time of 30:18.
Küng was some seventeen seconds ahead of Rémi Cavagna, the Deceuninck-QuickStep man who won the French national TT title last Friday.
Rounding out the podium was the European champion of two years ago; Belgian Victor Campenaerts who plies his trade with NTT Pro Cycling.
In the U23 men's race, Ben Healy was representing Ireland and he placed 16th in a time of 32:15, some 1:53 off winner Andreas Leknessund of Norway.
Stefan Bissegger (Switzerland) took the silver medal, 23 seconds off the winner, with Belgiums Ilan Van Wilder in 3rd a further five seconds back and Great Britain's Tom Pidcock in 4th at 39 seconds.
