Ryan Mullen was below par in France yesterday, coming home to finish 8th in the Chrono des Nations TT.

The Irish champion won the junior version of this race back in 2012. And the following season he would claim the U23 race.

He was 4th in the elite contest last year after his excellent 5th in the Worlds TT in Doha.

However, he said he was not feeling good yesterday. And with a course of 49.7km to contend with, it wasn’t the place to be unless firing on all cylinders.

The 23-year-old Irish rider was forced to settle for 8th of the 27-rider field in Herbiers.
