Johannes Rom Dahl of Roadman Cycling Club is hoovering up the TT wins on the domestic scene this year, claiming victory in the Danny O'Shea 10 Mile TT at the weekend. He adds that to wins earlier in the season in the 'Alo Donegan 10 mile TT' in May and the Seven Springs Open 25 Mile TT last month.
In Brittas Bay, Co Wicklow, Rom Dahl - a Dane who came to Ireland a couple of years ago to study at Trinity College, Dublin - clocked a time of 19:10 to run out the relatively comfortable winner of the men's race.
In the women's event, Hazel Smyth of Kinning Cycles claimed victory in a time of 24:23. She was 1:13 clear of runner-up Aishling Barry (Dunboyne Cycling Club). Sophie English (Bohermeen CC) rounded out the women's podium, stopping the clock in 25.59.
Rom Dahl topped the men's podium from Ian Inglis, the Kinning Cycles man who has been posting so quick times this year recording a 19:33 in Saturday test in Wicklow.
Junior rider Matthew Walls (Lucan CRC) - who took 2nd in the TT and 4th at the road race in the junior National Road Championships last month - claimed 3rd in a time of 19:59.
Walls was just seven seconds faster that Paul Kennedy (Team Skyline), with one of Cycling Ireland's most successful and long-standing coaches, Neill Delahaye (Bellurgan Wheelers) placing 5th in a time of 2103.
