Riders crashed as the team cars started to squeeze passed so they could go up to the breakway


Julian Alaphilippe was among the fallers when several riders came down in the start-finish area at Brabantse Pijl as team cars tried to pass them. One of the riders in the large chasing group glanced over his right shoulder at one of the cars, and then bumped another rider to his right, causing him to crash.

That resulted in several other men crashing down onto the wet tarmac, with one of the Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux cyclists crashing towards the team car.
